The Corcovado´s Train Cultural Space has the purpose to become pleasant and didactic the sojourn of the passengers of the train. Through wall papers, photos and videos, the history of the construction of the line is shown to you that it´s crosses the Tijuca´s Forest and is one of the preferred strolls of the cariocas.

The visitor will know that, idealized by the engineers Francisco Pereira Passos e João Teixeira Soares, the Corcovado´s Train had its inauguration in October 9, 1884 by Dom Pedro II. That this way was born of the passion of the Emperor for the local landscape and the fantastic vision that could be appreciated at the high part of the mount. Because of this, it became exclusively first Railroad constructed in Brazil for tourists, carrying in the following year to the beginning from its functioning 31,885 people, exactly operating at the time with only two engines. It´s part of the Cultural Space, the "Café do Trem" (coffee of the Train), where the visitor while waits the departure can enjoy a snack or drink some thing.
